2012: the year of thrift

Being thrifty and being crafty go hand in hand as far as I'm concerned.  I love to make things from scraps of fabric, odds and ends of wool and broken jewellery, and I'm never happier than when rooting in a charity shop.

I also think that if you can make a bit of money from making things then, even better! I had fun at a recent craft fair, and also sold a few pieces which meant I had some money to re-stock the craft supplies.

Pin up

'Craft Mondays' has been moving house, so there hasn't been much time for craft.  The new craft room is up and running now though and the first project completed has been a notice board.

I followed the excellent instructions from 'A Room of Ones Own' to make this pin board for my nephew's room

I used Cath Kidston 'Vintage Cars' fabric, which is £20 a metre.  This sounds expensive, but it's great quality and really wide so good value for money.

New craft book alert!

I can't wait to have a go at making some of these lovely creatures.

Not only is it a new book, it was a charity shop bargain too!
